BII, the professional body for the licensed retail sector, has a growing membership of over 17,000 individuals. Its awarding body, BIIAB, has processed over one million examination entries to date. Your Starting Point
If you want to run any kind of licensed premises, you will need to become a personal licence holder and to become eligible you must hold a BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH) qualification.
Remember - you don’t have to be a manager now to become a personal licence holder and once you have a personal licence it is valid for 10 years so there has never been a better time to sit the BIIAB Level 2 NCPLH.
Having passed, you will need to apply to your local authority licensing office and meet certain other criteria before being granted a personal licence including a criminal record check. Once you hold a personal licence, you have opened the door to advancement into supervisory and management positions.
The BIIAB Level 2 NCPLH has been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and, as with all BIIAB qualifications, is available through a UK-wide network of specialist approved training companies and colleges, and also large licensed retail companies who offer training for their employees.
