Springboard UK Discovery Trails

A Springboard Discovery Trail is a walkabout educational based quiz that provides a journey of discovery within the towns & cities in which Springboard is based. A trail takes the participants around key areas of the city or town highlighting the different sectors of the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel & Tourism industries that may normally pass unnoticed. Each participant is provided with a trail leaflet which contains a map to follow in order to reach the answers to the questions. The answers are often not on eye level and may be outside, or sometimes participants may have to enter an establishment and ask members of staff. In each regional trail there are approximately 40 questions mixed with general trivia about the featured area. A trail takes approximately one & half hours to complete.
Objective of Course
The walkabout quiz around springboard centres is aimed at school & college students to encourage learning about the industry as well as key skills development. It is used to help deliver the curriculum investigating the industry, teamwork, problem solving, communicational skills etc. The discovery trails are designed to heighten awareness of the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel & Toursim industries among participants. They encompass the diverse range of sectors within these industries and aim to promote the multitude of career opportunities these industries have to offer.
Target Audience
The target audience that will benefit mostly from the trails are Years 9 to Year 13 students at school or college studying GCSE`s any levels of GNVQ or A Levels as it is an excellent introduction to the Hospitality, leisure, Travel & Tourism industries in this country.
