Springboard UK Young Manager Programme
Objective of Course
The Young Manager Programme has been designed to give students the skills they will need to succeed as potential managers of the future and to raise their awareness of the opportunities for employment within the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industries.
By the end of the programme the students will be able to:
- Identify the various stages and techniques for effective problem solving
- Identify the skills required for effective leadership
- Improve their communication skills
- Improve their time management skills
- Understand the role of a leader
- Appreciate the role of sales and marketing team in a large organisation
- Understand the value of corporate image
- Have an understanding of the career/job opportunities available in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industries
The result should be to encourage more young people to consider the HLTT industry as a first choice career either through direct employment, apprenticeships or further and higher education.
Target Audience
The Young Manager Programme is aimed at 17/18 year old students taking their A levels or advanced AVCE/Scottish Equivalent of any discipline that may have an interest in a career within the HLTT industry.
