AMBASSADOR COURSES

Ideally the definition of a potential Ambassador is one who is passionate, enthusiastic and interested in ‘spreading the word’ about the Hospitality industry by going into schools, colleges, universities, returner groups, third agers groups and talking about the real opportunities which exist within our industry.

For all our Springboard Ambassadors, we run a two day programme covering presentational skills and careers guidance. This equips them with the right skills to present the range of different jobs and careers within this exciting and diverse Industry and to pass on some of their enthusiasm and experience to different audiences. All Ambassadors are given a Video Speakers Pack, which consists of various visual aids designed to entertain, inspire and evoke enthusiasm in the industry. This is included in the cost of the course at just £120.

The commitment we require is that they agree to do at least three activities a year for us and feedback on any progress in terms of potential recruits they have spoken or influenced back to our nearest Springboard centre around the country.

(Developed by the Springboard Charitable Trust for Tower Hamlets Education Directorate with the support of the LSDA)

The Canary Wharf Discovery Trail highlights the many and varied components of the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism industry - the UK’s fastest growing industry. It provides an opportunity for students to discover the wide range of exciting career opportunities available, and to view the industry in action, in one of London’s most vibrant and rapidly developing communities.

The Canary Wharf Discovery Trail is a great teaching and learning experience for both teachers and their students, and supports many elements of the curriculum.

GCSE Leisure & Tourism - see how Customer Service is provided to a range of customers; how do different companies market themselves to potential customers? ; note the wide range of job opportunities available.

GNVQ Hospitality & Catering - observe Customer Service in action; note the types of jobs available and the roles and responsibilities of employees; interview key staff at pre-organised venues

Each teacher registering for the Discovery Trail will receive a Teacher Pack containing:

  • Discovery Trail guidelines
  • Answers and suggested responses to the questions
  • Curriculum- based student activities and assignments

CAREERS FAIRS

Many schools and colleges throughout London and the South East hold Careers Fairs, Seminars and Presentations to enable their students to meet employers and talk about career opportunities. Springboard UK may be able to assist by attending such events and providing careers literature and advice to students on the opportunities available in Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism. In addition, we may also be able to assist where possible, by organising for one of our Ambassadors, enthusiastic individuals working in the industry, to attend an event or presentation.
