"I just wanted to say a huge thank you on behalf of Janelle, myself and especially the students for giving us such an excellent insight into working for one of London's finest hotels! You will have seen the difference for yourself, between the students arriving in the morning, at lunch time and leaving the hotel in the afternoon. They were full of it on the way home! Without exception they all enjoyed their experiences, although the student working in house-keeping (Polin I think?) was horrified at the state some people leave their rooms in, especially as the rooms are so beautiful and they are paying so much money. I did point out, the fact that they are paying so much is why some people feel justified to! Obviously his bedroom is immaculate - I wonder if their parents or carers will see a change in their willingness to help out at home!
I particularly enjoyed working with Cara's team, who do such a brilliant job and have effective time management, communications and team work down to a fine art!
Perhaps when we get time we could have a chat about how we could combine to work together again in the future, especially with a view to promoting careers and employability skills.

Red Carnation Hotels joined the Springboard Business Partnership as we wanted to assist them with promoting our industry as a great place to work!
We have been involved with many of their events including the festival. We welcomed students into our hotels and we also saw our executives return to the floor for ‘buddy day’. We also took part in Summer School 2004 and will be getting involved again this year.
Whilst this is a great way to promote our industry, we have also found that by being part of the partnership has opened doors for us to meet enthusiastic individuals who want to work. It has also created links between Red Carnation Hotels and a wide range of industry professionals such as college tutors and career advisors, who have introduced us to potential employees.
Springboard illustrates outstanding commitment to our industry and we enjoy being part of such a worthwhile initiative!
