FutureChef 2007

The search is officially on to find the best budding young culinary talent within the UK. Enter FutureChef 2007, brought to you by the Springboard Charitable Trust and supported by a host of culinary institutions, suppliers and employers for the chance of a lifetime. This could be the most exciting thing that happens to you this year.

FutureChef is a nationwide competition; helping young people aged 12-16 to learn to cook. It also provides a unique insight into the world of professional cooking by capturing imagination, recognising talent and providing a potential platform to launch a fabulous career. Supported by key industry partners and judged by celebrity chefs, last year’s competition attracted 5530 entrants from 521 schools throughout the UK.

If you want to try your hand and discover hidden culinary talent, if you fancy being Britain’s newest celebrated chef or if you simply like food – then take part in FutureChef.

Taking part in FutureChef:

• Will contribute to pupils learning experiences at Key stage 3.
• Will also support many aspects of food and cooking related courses in years 10 and 11.
• Stimulates young people to learn about cooking, budgeting and presentation.
• Gives a taste of what life is like in a professional kitchen.
• Can help your school get positive publicity and has helped schools secure funding to develop food technology departments.
• Will earn fabulous prizes for competitors, their parents and teachers, a truly rewarding experience.
• Help build links with local businesses, restaurants and national companies.
• Is simply a great experience for all!
